Turmerific

Serves: 2

2 cups spinach
1 cup pineapple
1/2 cup papaya
1/4 lime
1/4 lemon
(I got 1 tbsp lemon-lime juice)
1/2 cup grapefruit slices (1/2 grapefruit)
1 tbsp flax seed
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
2 cups water


Add all ingredients to the NutriBullet Rx TALL Cup and extract until smooth. I did 30 seconds, removed and shook the jar and ran 1 minute cycle.

Taste Note: Tastes AWESOME. Lot of turmeric taste in this, you can start with 1/4 tsp and increase 1/8 tsp at a time and see how far you can handle turmeric.

Note: I didn't read the recipe properly, it asked for blackberry, by mistake I added blueberry. I was thinking it would be that good, since flavoring ingredients in this smoothie are just avocado and blueberry, but it was really good. But if you are a sweet tooth person, you might have to add little sweetener to this. The taste also depends on the sweetness of the berry.

I Oat So Far

Serves: 2

1/2 gluten free quick cooking rolled oats
2 cups collard greens (1 large and 2 small, just the leaves and no stems)
1 banana
1 cup blueberry
20 raw almonds
1 tbsp blackstrap molasses / any other sweetener of your choice
2 cups water

Note: The recipe didn't call for any sweetener and I don't have molasses in the picture. I blended everything for 30 seconds and tasted, it tasted not that good, so much collard green taste, so I added 1 tbsp of molasses, you can add whatever sweetener you like.

Note: Very light. I never get organic papaya, so I added pineapple. I tasted pineapple and some strange taste, I think its from baby lettuce

Note: Original recipe asked for 3/4 cup of oats, but I added just 1/2 cup and the recipe didn't have any sweetener, but I thought it would taste really bad without any sweetener, so I added 4 dates and I am really glad, I added 4 dates. Without that it would have tasted horrible, even with 4 dates, I could taste the kale, but its not bad.

Note: My banana was very large, you can see it in the picture and my banana was very very ripe, like banana which you would be using for banana bread kind of ripe. Didn't taste kale in this recipe, tasted just chocolate and berry.

  1. The recipe called for kale, I used baby kale, thats what I had in hand. I feel like the baby is kale has much more intense kale flavor than laminate kale. Next time, prepare this with laminate kale.
  2. The recipe didn't call for any sweetener and I didn't use any. But definitely use sweetener of your choice, I feel like it would taste much much much better and awesome with some sweetener.

Note: The recipe didn't call for any sweetener. I made the smoothie without any sweetener, thought the fuji apple would sweeten this smoothie, but I was wrong. So added 1 tbsp molasses and had it, but I think it would taste much better with 2 dates. Also the recipe called for 2 tsp of ground cinnamon, I added 1/2 tsp, I think 1/4 tsp would be perfect.

Avocacao Ambrosia

2 cups spinach
1 and 1/2 cup blueberries
1/2 avocado
2 tbsp raw cacao powder
2 cups water or coconut water or 1 cup coconut water and 1 cup water

Add all ingredients to the NutriBullet Rx TALL Cup and extract until smooth. I did 1 minute cycle 1 and 1/2 times.

Taste Note: Tastes AWESOME. Tastes like chocolate smoothie. I could taste blueberry and chocolate in this smoothie.
Note: I used 1 cup coconut water and 1 cup water to prepare this smoothie. After this many smoothies, I finally figured out, how not to do two 1 minute cycles, because I don't want my smoothie to get hot, it does when I run it twice. The reason I was running 2 times was some greens get stuck in the bottom of the TALL cup. Today I ran it for 30 seconds, took out the cup, shook it and run one minute cycle. Whaha, perfect smoothie.

I like this brand coconut water (I like only this brand, it is no where closer to fresh coconut water, but this is the closet taste to the real one, but pricy, 1 bottle is $4.99), since we added the whole avocado, could taste avocado in this as well.
